The Morning Devotional for March 14, 2023
The Westminster Confession of Faith 8.3

III. The Lord Jesus, in his human nature thus united to the divine, was sanctified and anointed with the Holy Spirit above measure;a having in him all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge,b in whom it pleased the Father that all fulness should dwell;c to the end that, being holy, harmless, undefiled, and full of grace and truth,d he might be thoroughly furnished to execute the office of a mediator and surety.e Which office he took not unto himself, but was thereunto called by his Father,f who put all power and judgment into his hand, and gave him commandment to execute the same.g

Daily Prayer for February 23, 2023 (Psalm 45)

Daily Prayer for February 23, 2023 (Psalm 45)

Prayer: Our God in heaven, we have great reason to praise and adore you. Indeed, our hearts should overflow with adoration for your majesty and beauty. Yet, Father, we confess that we are not struck with awe for who you are as often as we should. Sometimes we are too casual with your name, attributes, ordinances, Word, and works. Forgive us, Father. Please help us see your beauty and notice that Christ our Lord is the most handsome of men, full of grace and kindness, the one in whom we are victorious as we pilgrim through this life. We thank you, Father, that your Son is a good and kind judge who loves righteousness and abhors wickedness and evil. As our Lord and Savior, and righteous King, we should listen to him and ignore the clamor of this world, which will lead to ruin. As our King, we should bow to him, worship him and honor him with our thoughts, words, and actions. Please grant us the willingness to serve this humble King and Savior of the souls of men. Please give us what you command us, and help us love you, the triune God, with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
