Daily Prayer for March 13, 2024: Psalm 134

Prayer: Our Father, as we come to you today, we come as those in desperate need of your grace and kindness. We are creatures of dust, and we stray easily from those things you tell us. We easily forget your promises and the many mercies you have demonstrated day after day. Your faithfulness is new every morning. Yet, we know that we easily forget how much you love us and how you demonstrated that love in giving to us your Son. We have many reasons to bless you, our God! You give us our daily bread, providing for us those things we need. You forgive us when we sin. You watch over us day and night, never leaving us or forsaking us. Though we sometimes wrestle with your acts of providence and are often brought through dark providences, you have promised to uphold us in those times of great trial. You give us the Lord’s Day when we gather to praise You and be reminded by You of that eternal love You have for us. Please help us, Lord, to raise our hands to you in worship and praise. Please help us when the burdens of this life make it hard to utter the words, raise our hands, or sing your praise. Please help us as we struggle through this life as pilgrims in a world that does not want us. Please help us to live faithfully to you in a world wrecked by sin.

Father, we pray for those languishing in their faith and service to you. We ask for you to help them and strengthen them. There are many, our God, who are weary and despairing. Many are struggling with the state of things in the world and the church. We pray for your ministers, many of them on the verge of walking away because of the sadness they feel for the lives of others day after day. We pray for you to encourage them when all around them is nothing but discouragement and strife. Please grant them a measure of your grace and Spirit. We pray for the many of your people who are losing faith in you. WE pray for the state of their souls as they are barren and dry. Do not abandon them to their devices as they wrestle through dark times. Father, we confess that this life is hard. It often beats your people to dust. Please rally the forces of heaven for your people and be a shield and defender for them. Please bless them from the heavenly Zion. We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
