Daily Prayer for October 20, 2022

Prayer: Grant almighty God that your redeemed people would love you and serve you today and not borrow trouble about tomorrow because we know that your Word tells us to “not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.” We thank you for giving us the comfort of your Word and teaching us those things we must hear and heed. Therefore, Father, be pleased to help us as we move through this day to trust you in everything. Forgive us for the many times we worry, fret, and disobey you in this area. Forgive us for not trusting you with tomorrow and erecting ourselves as sovereigns thinking that somehow our worry will change the future and solve every problem. Grant, we beg thee, a more significant measure of your Holy Spirit, to comfort our weary minds and bring peace to those who struggle in this way. Please help them to rest solely on your goodness and grace. Please grant them more of your presence and encourage them with your Word. Please give to all of us that mind, heart, and strength to lean solely upon the Name that is above every name and run to you as a strong and mighty fortress from the concerns of this life. Please help us, Lord, to not fret over the things that evil people may do. Please help us not to be anxious over medical concerns or health struggles. Please help us, Lord, to not wring our hands with anxiety over financial struggles. Please help us to remember the promises of your Word, which tells us that you have your eye upon us, are mindful of all that we need, and that you care for our body and soul. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  • I am selling my Surface Pro 3.  It is a Windows 10 home; 64 GB SSD with 4 GB RAM and a 64 GB SD Card. It comes complete with a keyboard cover and Surface Pen. It is in pristine condition. • “Touchscreen devices like smartphones and tablets are now fixtures of many households, so it comes as little surprise to learn that young children who don’t work or go to school are among their most active users. In the first study of its kind, researchers have learned that infants and toddlers who spend more time on these devices sleep less at night. It’s a troubling finding, but the reasons for these sleep disruptions are still unclear.” — Read more on this subject at Lifehacker
  • The Future of Packaged Water — Maybe it’s me, but this is not appealing.  It may appeal to you.
  • Instagram has grown up from its early days with many new features including the Snapchat type feature called Stories.  This article will help you use it with some good tips. Facebook says that “Instagram Stories [are] now more popular than Snapchat.”
  • Netflix now allows you to download movies to your Windows 10 device.  This article tells you more about the process.
