Dr. Shaw was probably my FAVORITE professor. His knowledge of Hebrew is amazing, but, more importantly, he was able to strip it down for this dumb seminary student in a way that I could understand and learn. His knowledge of OT is mind-blowing, but he was able to make it easy and understandable. In my opinion, he is undervalued in the church, except from those who are sitting (or did sit) under his faithful instruction. I strongly encourage you to listen to this lecture.
