Prayer: Grant, almighty God, that your redeemed people would attend to what they hear in the preaching of your Word today with due diligence and love, humbly, with the whole heart, meditating on it and seeking to bring forth fruit of it in their lives. As your people, we are thankful that you have ordained the foolishness of preaching to communicate your truth to the sheep of your pasture. As the Good Shepherd, you desire to see your people feed on the bounty that is your Word. Therefore, help us to love your Word and hide it in our hearts. We confess that we often allow it to pass us by, giving little thought or attention to it. We know this is an offense to you. We long to see your Word proclaimed as a demonstration of your Spirit. Please help us, Lord. We are weak people, but you have determined to use your Word to help us. Therefore, help us and be kind to us we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
