Prayer: Our God, we are thankful that you demonstrated your love to us and that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Yet, death could not contain him, and you gloriously and triumphantly raised him from the dead for our justification and sanctification. As such, we are afforded many benefits and blessings due to this risen and alive Savior, your son, and our Lord. We give you praise for accepting his sacrifice for us. We thank you for his work he has conquered sin and the grave, and we no longer need to fear death. We further thank you for the blessings of hope for the life to come, knowing that our bodies, though passing away, will remain united to Christ until our resurrection. Father, there are many blessings given to us through the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, we confess, we spend so little time reflecting on them in a way that moves us to remain steadfast, immovable, and always abounding in your work. Please forgive us for not meditating on your Son’s resurrection, and forgive us for the ease with which we wander from the narrow path you have placed us. Please help us reflect deeply on your Son’s resurrection — not only this day but every day we live. Please grant us your Spirit and remind us of our need to think often about Christ and his work. He is alive. He is mediating for us. We praise you, our eternal and holy Father, for your great work of redemption. We pray these things through the name of our risen and glorified King. Amen.
