Prayer: Grant, almighty God, that your name would be exalted in the congregation of your redeemed people today. We give you thanks and praise for your marvelous works rendered in the lives of sinful people. We remember your works of old, how you brought a people from the land of bondage and sin and delivered them safely across the Red Sea. We remember your victories over the forces of evil and how you protected them as they fled their captors. We remember how you gave them their daily bread as they journeyed to the place of worship at Mt. Sinai. We remember your words as given to your servant Moses as your revealed your holy character in the giving of the moral law. These things remind us that we, too, have been freed from the land of sin and misery. They remind us of the great salvation you have wrought in the Passover Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ. As such, you have brought us near to you to worship you, and we do so on this one day in seven to remember and be reminded of your great love for us. Father, please speak plainly to us today. Please help us, by your Spirit, to hear and do what we hear. Please help us not to be like the church of old that heard and did not believe and lived lives of disobedience before you. For indeed, we long to glorify you with our lives because of your great work in us. Therefore, Father, give us what you command and help us for the sake of your great name. the kingdom of your Son, and for the good of your church, we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
