Prayer: Grant, almighty God, that we, as your redeemed people who are called out of the world to walk in newness of life, gather on another Lord’s Day they would do so with joy and delight for what you have done for us. Grant, our God, a willingness to hear from you as your Word is preached from the pulpit. We plead that you would grant your servant great unction and power from on high and that the sermon would be a powerful demonstration of your Spirit and be used by you to exalt your name and strengthen and edify your church. We pray, O God, that your name would be exalted in song and praise, for you alone are worthy. Grant, we pray that you would bless your people with your presence and that the sound of ‘amen’ would ring throughout the halls of our churches. We long to see your churches full of worshipers. We desire to see many come to a proper understanding of the gospel through the Word proclaimed. Therefore, holy God, bring many to hear today. Please open the eyes and ears of the people and cause them to be hearers and doers of your Word we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
