Prayer: Our God in heaven: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we bow before your throne where you reign over all the earth and all you have made. We thank you for revealing yourself to us through the work of your hands. Each day, we see that our God is glorious and matchless in wonder and power. From the rising of the sun in the east to its setting in the west, you declare and proclaim your glory. Each night we look and see the stars you have made and the moon, and we are reminded of how small we are in this vast universe you have made by the word of your power. Yet, you are mindful of us. As a Father, you care for us, bestowing us your kindness and grace, not treating us as our sins deserve.
You have renewed your mercy to us this day because of what your beloved Son has accomplished for us. Indeed, we are unprofitable servants, yet you call us the apple of your eye and your treasured possession. Therefore, Father, like the psalmist, we pray that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. We long to see your glory spread from pole to pole. We desire to see the hope of the gospel shed abroad in the hearts of men. We want to see all people, all nations, praise you, for you are great and mighty, the one true God of heaven and earth. Please grant us hearts that sing for joy for what you have done for helpless creatures of dust. Please give us a zeal for your glory — to see it advance and others tell of it. Please guide the nations by your divine providence according to your perfect wisdom, all to the praise of your great and glorious name. These things we offer to you, humbly, through Christ our Lord. Amen,
