Prayer: Grant almighty God that your church would long to see your glory displayed over all the earth. Grant, we pray, that you would cause your will to be done on earth as it is done in heaven. We long to see your Son exalted in the world and in the church. Therefore, holy Father, be pleased to give your servants what you command by pouring out your Spirit on them that they would be quick to do all of your holy will. We know, our God, that we fall short of the things you command and mourn that which indwells us and hinders our zeal to love you and others as you have told us. Please cause your people to labor in prayer for the things most needful: that we would seek first your Kingdom and righteousness; that we would deny ourselves, take up our cross and daily follow you; that we would set our minds on things above and not on the things of this world. Indeed, the things of this life are passing away. Our bodies, too, are growing old and weak, ravaged by the effects of sin that has infected us. We pray for more grace in the lives of your people and a willingness to believe what you promise your church. Please cause us, O Lord, to trust you with our whole hearts and not lean on our understanding. Thank you for the unchanging promise that you will guide us wherever you would have us go. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
