Prayer: Father in heaven, You alone are worthy of our praise, for there is no God like You. We are humbled that You have been pleased to lead us and guide us. Your Word tells us that You are our Shepherd, and You have led us from the land of bondage and misery (Psa. 23), having freed us through the redeeming blood of the Passover Lamb (Ex. 12;1 Cor. 5:7). We adore You for Your gracious work of salvation. We desire, therefore, to love and obey You more. We are miserable creatures without You. Though we are redeemed, we still wrestle with the fact that we fall short of Your glory (Rom. 3:23). On our best day, we are still creatures of dust and unprofitable servants, having done only our duty (Lk. 17:10). You have promised to forgive us as we humble ourselves before You (1 John 1:9). Please forgive, O Lord. Grant to us a renewed zeal to trust You and follow You as You lead us through our days. We thank You that Your goodness and mercy will pursue us all of our days until we enter that eternal rest that You have promised to all those that love You (Psa. 23:6). We pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
