Prayer: Our great and glorious God in heaven: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we are thankful and glad to join with other believers in the faith once delivered to the saints today. With great joy and zeal, we come to praise you in song and to hear you speak to us through the reading and, especially, the preaching of your Word. We are thankful that you purpose to condescend to poor sinners and meet with us as we gather. With great delight, we will enter your presence, and with great gratitude, we will adore you, the one living and true God. We bless your name on this another Lord’s Day because you have redeemed us and set us apart from the world to be your own possession, a royal priesthood, and a chosen and holy people. We know this would be impossible without the work of the great High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ to whom we owe our entire lives — every breath and every word and every action — to the praise of his glorious name. Help us today to love you with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Please give us the Holy Spirit so we can worship you in spirit and truth. We pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, and our Savior. Amen.
