Prayer: Our glorious Father, you who dwell in unapproachable light, we bless your name today as the only true God and our God. We give you thanks for your redeeming love poured out on your people from all eternity and demonstrated in the work of your beloved Son. We are humbled at your work of salvation in bringing sinners to yourself. As we reflect upon your love and the great cost of the sacrifice of the Passover Lamb, we are often ashamed of our lack of zeal and love for you and your kingdom. Too often, we pursue the things of this life and place too much hope and joy in that which is passing away. Please forgive us for such a low view of your glory and kingdom. Please help us to remember why we were made and why you brought us to yourself. Give us a greater measure of your Spirit and knowledge of your Word so we might not sin against you. We pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
