Prayer: Our God in heaven, the one living and true God, we thank you for the tremendous blessing of the Lord’s Day. We are grateful for the privilege we have to come into your presence today, gathered as a peculiar people, to adore your majesty, sing your praises, plead with you for more grace, and to hear from you as your Word is read and proclaimed. Like the psalmist, we say with one mind, heart, and voice, “It is good to go to the house of the Lord.” We are your people, gathered by the Good Shepherd. As the sheep of your pasture, we desire to come into your gates with thanksgiving, with shouts of joy for the ministry of the resurrected Savior. As we hear your Word today, please help us to meditate and confer with what we hear. Grant us the grace to be good listeners and doers of that which we hear. Grant to us your Spirit that we would seek to bring forth the fruit of it in our lives. We pray this in the name of the matchless and wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
