Prayer: Grant almighty God that as your redeemed people enter a new day and a new week, we will strive to do all you have commanded as we seek to trust you with all of our hearts. We thank you for your kindness to us. We praise you that you do not treat us as our sins deserve. We know that you sit above the circle of the earth and regard the inhabitants as grasshoppers. We know that we are creatures of dust and merely your servants. Yet, you have called us to walk worthy of the calling you have been pleased to give us. That calling, rooted in the kindness and compassion of Christ who condescended to our lowly estate and served us that we might know you and have peace with you, is nothing we deserve. Instead, we deserve your judgment and wrath. Instead, you were pleased to rescue us as you rescued your people from their long bondage in Egypt. AS your adopted children, we now long to love you with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Grant, we pray thee that you would give us what you command us. Grant us the desire to love you and others as you have told us. Please help us by giving us an abundance of your Spirit as we move through this day. Grant us the zeal to walk faithfully before you. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
