Prayer: Our Father in heaven, you alone are holy. Your Word tells us that there is no God like you. You have been so very kind to us, not treating us as our sins deserve. Our delight is to love you and obey you in all that we do. Yet, we fall short of your glory. We often wander from your ways, allowing our minds and hearts to turn to worthless things. You have made us to worship you. You have created us to glorify you in all that we do. Forgive us for those times when we fail to reflect your goodness and glory. We thank you that you separate our sins as far as the east is from the west; that you bury them in the deepest ocean. We praise you for your Son, who, while we were still sinners, he died for us. It is through his name that we can enter the most holy place and confess our sins and present our needs to you.
We are a needy people. Many people in our lives do not know you. There are many in our churches that suffer and hurt. Many are ready to give up due to the weight of this fallen world. Father, help them. Be an ever-present help to them in times of trouble. Bring our loves ones to yourself. Help those who are crumbling under the load of this life. Be merciful to your people we ask in Christs’ name. Amen.
