Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we thank you for another day that you have given to us. We thank you that you have provided us another opportunity to serve you and glorify you in all that we do. This is the day that you have made, and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We praise you for your kindness and grace. We are grateful that you do not treat us as our sins deserve. Instead of pouring out your wrath upon us, it pleased you to crush your Son so that we would have our sins forgiven and enjoy peace with you. Forgive us, Father, for the many times that we have transgressed your law. Help us, by your Holy Spirit, to obey you in all that you have commanded us. Your Son tells us that if we love him, we will obey all that he has told us. We do love your son and grieve the indwelling sin that remains in us. Purify us for your service and be merciful to us.

We pray this day that you would work in the lives of our friends and family who have not yet bowed the knee to your Son. Grant them eyes to see and ears to hear the glorious invitation of Christ, “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Oh, Father, open their ears that they might hear, we beg and plead. We ask this because we know that you alone can change the hearts of men. Do so, Father, for the sake of your glory and kingdom, we pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
