Prayer: Grant almighty God that your redeemed people would trust you regardless of their circumstances. It is a daunting reality to live in a world infected with sin, for it causes us to tremble, at times, by the affairs of others. We wrestle with the unknown, and we struggle against the fears of our minds that invent circumstances that may or may not come to pass. We fret and worry about things we can do nothing about, although your Son has told us not to be anxious about things of this life but, instead, to seek your kingdom and righteousness first. Yet, we often borrow trouble from tomorrow when today has enough of its own to deal with and resolve. Forgive us, Father. Forgive us for not trusting you with today and tomorrow. Forgive us for leaning on our own understanding of things. Forgive us for fretting and worrying instead of praying and pleading. Forgive us and be patient with us, Lord. May it please you to comfort and strengthen those of your people with the grace of your presence today. May you be pleased to help those who are wrestling with all sorts of trials and troubles. May you remember that you are a faithful shepherd who renews his mercy to his people each morning. Therefore, Father, please help the sheep of your pasture to lean on you and not worry about what man may think or do. Please cause us to hope in you come what may we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
