Prayer: Our great and mighty God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we praise you because you have made yourself known to your people. As such, our God, we are compelled to praise you and ascribe to you the glory, honor, and adoration that your Name deserves. You were pleased to reveal yourself to the church of old in various signs and symbols, but now, you have revealed yourself through the work of your beloved Son. You dwell with your people and make your glory known to us. More glorious are you than the most beautiful sunset and majestic mountain. More majestic are you than all the kingdoms of this earth. We thank you for bringing us to fear you, bringing us near to you through the work of your Son. We thank you that there is no longer any condemnation for us because we are safe and secure in Christ. Yet, we know many have not bowed the knee to you. We pray for their salvation. We ask that you would open their blind eyes and deaf ears so they, too, can praise you and ascribe to you the honor and glory you deserve. We confess to you, our Father, that we do not always live as those who have been rescued from our miserable state. We often go our own way, forgetting that your eyes are in every place beholding the evil and the good, WE confess that we often praise you with our lips, but our hearts are far from you. We are ashamed of how easily we stray from your commands. Forgive us, Father. Please grant to us hearts that equal the praise of our lips. Please grant us the will and desire to praise you with all our hearts. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
