Prayer: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask that you would give us what we need today — those things that you promise to your people in your Word. We adore you for your holiness and majesty and long to see your glory displayed over all the earth. You have established the earth and order all affairs of men and creatures for your purposes and glory.
We thank you that you have not left us alone — that you are working daily, through providence, to guard, protect, and lead your people to their heavenly rest. We confess to you our weakness and struggle as we sometimes fail to trust you with our very lives. We confess to you our grumbling and complaining, knowing that it is an abomination in your ears. Forgive us, Father, and help us to walk contently with you.
We pray for your church today and ask that you would sanctify her completely and make her holy. We ask that you would make the church as holy as possible for sinful people. Grant to us more grace and cause us to walk in your ways. We pray these things in Christs’ Name. Amen.
