Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we come to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in total dependence on the Holy Spirit to pray and plead with you for the needs of your people. Lord, we know that we are miserable creatures. We have been reminded over the last few weeks how fragile and weak we are. Your providence has demonstrated to us that you alone are God, and we are dependant upon you. You have ordained the events that we are facing in our world. You have done these things to exalt your name and to bring glory to yourself. You have subjected your creatures to these difficult days, calling all men to repent and look to you. You have purposes these things for the good of your people, your church, and the bride of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We confess that we often fear and grow weary of the matters that are before us. We forget your promises and the truth proclaimed in your Word. You are our present help in times of trouble. You have proven yourself faithful and good throughout all generations. You have told us to look to the future — to the New Jerusalem that makes our hearts glad. Help us, and be merciful to us. Grant to us the help we need to trust you in the face of uncertain times.

We pray for your people in the face of this trial. We ask that you would protect them from infection. We pray that you would protect them as a Father who defends his own family. We seek your face through these times and ask that your church would rise up, exalt you, and praise you for your steadfast mercy and love. Please use this time to strengthen your church and purify her to the glory of your name. We pray all of this in the name of the Savior, your Son, and our Lord. Amen.
