Prayer: Grant, almighty God, a clear understanding of your divine will as you plainly demonstrate your power and might through all you have made. Grant, we plead with you to help all those made in your image to see the glory of your beloved Son as shown in your most holy Word. We ask for your glory to spread throughout all the earth and for the power of the hope of salvation to be told to all those who are enabled to hear by the Eternal Spirit. Though we are creatures of dust and not worthy of the least of your mercies, we thank you for rescuing us and giving to us a new heart and new mind patterned after the mind of Christ and the word he taught and recorded in the canon of the Bible. We thank you, Father, for your many mercies and the continual outpouring of grace given to those you call the apple of your eye and your treasured possession. Yet, our God, we confess that we stray often from those things you tell us. We confess that our minds are not always set on things above but are often consumed with the things of this earth. We confess that we are like sheep that go astray. Though we long to love you and serve you with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength, we know that we wrestle against the deeds of the flesh. Please forgive us and help us. Please, our God, give us more and more of your Spirit, who alone is the giver of life. Please turn our hearts of stone and make them more like flesh so they can be molded after the image of the Lord Jesus Christ, who loved perfectly, served fervently, and did all your holy will. Please help us today. Please give us more grace, our God, we pray in the glorious name of the Savior. Amen.
