Prayer: Our God of the covenant who has promised great things for your people, we humble ourselves before your majesty today to praise you for your power and might; your goodness and grace. You have fed us from your Word on the Lord’s Day through the reading and the preaching of that which you desired your people to hear. We thank you for revealing yourself to sinful and miserable creatures of dust. We are grateful that your Son provided men in the church to teach and instruct and build up the body until she attains unity of the faith. We confess to you that we so often forget that which you tell us. We acknowledge our lazy approach to your Word and mourn our frequent failures to obey you. We grieve the remaining sin in us that prevents us from loving you with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. We desire to do as you have commanded. Please give us what you command us through your Holy Spirit, who is our comforter and guide.

We pray for your people. We ask that they would bear fruit from all that has been said to them on the Lord’s Day. We ask that you would strengthen all of us in the faith once delivered to the saints. We plead with you to make us holy as you are holy. We pray this in Christs’ Name. Amen.
