Prayer: I was glad when they said, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.” Father, we bless your Name on another Lord’s Day that you have provided as a picture of our heavenly rest that we long for and wait with eager expectation. We praise you because you alone are worthy of our praise, love, affection, and worship. You have revealed yourself in the splendor of creation. You have told us who you are in your Word. We thank you that you have condescended to man, making a way of access to you through your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Forgive us, Lord, for failing to consider you and do all things to your glory and honor. We know that we often stray from your commands. We are a forgetful people and long to remember that you made us to worship you whether we are eating or drinking or whatever it is that we set our hands to do. Thank you for your grace and for forgiving us through the blood of Christ.

We ask that you would bless your church today as she gathers all over the world. May your people be moved to sing your praises and adore you. Be pleased, Father, to send your Holy Spirit to the hearts, minds, ears, and eyes of your people so they may hear your Word preached. Bring forth your Word today, and may it thunder forth as a great demonstration of your Spirit. We pray this in Christs’ Name. Amen.
