Prayer: As your redeemed people, we bless your name and extol you, our God, because of your work of rescuing us from our sin. Great is our God and greatly to be praised! We offer you our love and adoration from our lips, knowing that our words will fail to express all that we owe you accurately. We commend your works and pass them on to the next generation, proclaiming your majesty as the one true God of heaven and earth. Indeed, there is no God like you who is pleased to forgive sins and bury them in the deepest ocean. You are gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love. You are good to all, providing our daily bread each day. Your works also praise you. From the sun’s rising to its setting, you are to be praised. You are faithful and good to your people. You have given us your Son and promised us good things as citizens of your kingdom. When we grow weary and fall, you lift us up and call us the apple of your eye. You are near to us when we cry out for help. We praise you this day, our God because you have done marvelous work in our lives.
Yet, we are creatures of dust. We know and confess the ease in which we stray from your commands. Therefore, holy Father, please help us to walk in your ways. Please grant us an extra measure of your Holy Spirit that we would honor you with our thoughts, words, and actions. Please give us all that you command and cause us to love you with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength and our neighbor as we love ourselves. All of these things we offer before you, with thanksgiving and praise all due to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
