Prayer: Father in heaven, we glorify your holy name this morning even as the angels encircle your throne proclaiming, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is full of your glory.” We thank you for your sovereign work of creation and providence. We are grateful that though man orders his days, you direct his steps. We are thankful to you that your promises belong to us, and that you never change, your faithfulness is new every morning.
We confess to you our sins of omission and commission. We grieve the fact that no mere man is able perfectly in this life to keep your righteous laws. We long for that day when the church militant will be the church at rest. We thank you that you are a God who is quick to forgive us from sin and unrighteousness due to the blood of your beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We pray for our world and the tragedy of man’s rebellion against you. We ask that you would be pleased to save wicked and evil people from their sin and turn them to the one who offers real peace and help for their soul. Vindicate your name, O Lord. Be gracious to sinners and glorify your name in all the earth. We pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
