Prayer: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We are thankful that you are our Father. We are grateful that you have redeemed us and called us to be adopted as sons and daughters of the Most High God. We bow before you knowing that you stand ready and able to help us in all of our needs and concerns. You have invited us to cast our cares upon you because you care for us.

We confess to you our lack of prayer. We are ashamed at how often we spend time on frivolous things instead of pleading with you for the things that we need. We are dependent creatures, and we need your wisdom, kindness, and grace in the world in which we live. We confess that your church has been prayerless. We know that you have told us and shown us in your Word to pray and plead with you, the God of heaven. We ask that you would forgive us and grant us your Holy Spirit to help us to pray before you each day, often, alone and in the prayer meetings of the church. We are ashamed at the number of churches that have abandoned corporate prayer. We realize that our troubles in this life are born out of a lack of zeal for this priority. Help us! Be gracious to us and bless those of your people that labor in their knees day after day. We pray this in Christs’ Name. Amen.
