Prayer: Our Father in heaven, you who are holy, we bow before you today. We are thankful for your kindness in giving your people rest in preparation for another day of service to you. We adore your majesty and stand in awe of all that you do through your wise and powerful providence. We give thanks to you for your guidance in our lives and for ordering our days according to your good pleasure.
We confess to you that we are often faithless in not redeeming our time in this dark and evil age. We plead your grace and your promised forgiveness for sin, knowing that you will cleanse us from all iniquity according to your abundant grace through Christ, our Lord.
We ask that on this day of worship, your name would be glorified in all the earth. We pray that you would cause your people to hunger and thirst for righteousness and to seek your glory as they gather to worship you. We ask for a powerful demonstration of your Spirit in the preaching of your Word. We live in difficult times, and we know that the gospel is the sure antidote to wickedness and evil in the world. We pray that you would gather your elect from every city and nation and build your kingdom in all the earth. We pray this in Christs’ glorious and precious name. Amen.
