Prayer: Grant, almighty God, that your redeemed people would remember your works of old and meditate on them daily, telling our children of the things you have done so they would trust you and walk with you all of their days. Grant, we plead with you to open the eyes of your covenant children so they would obey the terms of the Gospel and place their faith in you. We ask you, our God, that you would protect our children from the efforts of the Evil One to destroy their souls, for we live in a hostile and evil world that is rebelling against you. May you be pleased, our Father, to hold them fast in your hands and guard their hearts all of their days. We pray for our families that you would give strength to the Fathers to lead and guide their homes in the things of the Lord. We pray for our mothers that they would walk with you and submit to their husbands as they submit to you. Please, O God, watch over our homes and make them as godly as possible, granting them a fervent love for you and protection from the efforts of our culture to destroy them. Lord, we confess that we have not always been faithful to teach our children the things you have done. We have often failed to point our families to things you have performed throughout history. Too often, we allow the tyranny of the urgent to distract us from the most important things. Therefore, Father, grant us the desire and zeal to teach our children what you have accomplished so that the next generation would know you, walk with you, fear you, and adore you as the one true God of heaven and earth. We thank you for your kindness to us and for forgiving us for the sake of Christ. Please help us, by your Spirit, to do all you have told us. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
