Prayer: We bless your Name today, our God in heaven. You are holy, and we adore your beauty. There is no God like you. You are “the LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” We thank you that you do not treat us as our sins deserve “forgiving iniquity and transgression and sins.” Forgive us, Lord, for our many failures before you. We know that we often fall short of your glory. We are unprofitable servants, but we serve a faithful and sufficient Savior who has accomplished all that we could not accomplish.

We ask that you would help all of us, as your people, to seek your face and your kingdom faithfully. Grant to us your Spirit that we can come on the Lord’s Day to hear your voice speak. Grant to us a willing mind and heart to listen to you as your servants. We desire to receive the Word preached as what it is: the living voice of Christ, speaking to his sheep. Protect your church from harm and bless her with your presence. We ask this in the Name of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
