Prayer: We praise your name, our most holy and gracious God, for your mighty works and awesome deeds performed in redeeming sinful and helpless people to yourself. Due to your lovingkindness, we have a God we can run to and cry out to, pleading for all things we need. You hear us when we cry because you are not like the deaf idols of our day. You hear, and you act according to your perfect will and righteousness. Therefore, we can sing and rejoice because you have not left us to the grave but have given us hope in the resurrection. Death no longer frightens us because your Son and our Lord have conquered death and the grave. To you, we can pray, asking that you spare us in these difficult days, causing us to live according to your will. Come what may, our God, we know that you are for us and watching over us. Indeed, we will never be moved as we trust in you. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
