Prayer: We bless your name, O Most High God, and ascribe to you the glory that is yours from the beginning. You are majestic and holy, and there is no God like our God. You sit above the circle of the earth, and you regard its inhabitants as grasshoppers. You dwell in unapproachable light, and you show forth your power and beauty daily in all you have made. Therefore, our God, we, as your redeemed people, only have one response: to worship you as you have commanded. Each day we hear your voice, though there is no speech. Each day we witness your power as you tend to all you have made. Each Lord’s day, we hear you speak with power and night as your Word is read and proclaimed. Again, our God, we only have one response: to stand in awe of you. For who are we that you are mindful of us? Your power and might are beyond our imagination. Who are we that you care for us? Your glory and beauty are inexpressible. Yet, you do care for us and have redeemed us by the blood of the perfect Lamb, your Son, and our Savior. We thank you for loving us with an eternal love, and we thank you for not only showing your might and majesty, but you are also gentle and caring to pitiful sinners. In Christ, we are brought to adore you and marvel at the work of your hands. In Him, we have been given the eyes to see and the ears to hear your voice and follow you. Please help us, Lord, to do that with zeal and delight. Please renew in us a fervent love for you and the strength to worship you as we behold you in all that you do. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
