Prayer: We thank you and praise your most holy and gracious God for the work of salvation you promised to those who love you and fear you. We know that we love you because you first loved us. We know that there is nothing in us worthy of your attention and that all we have is Christ, and that, alone, is enough to satisfy your just demands and bless us with the hope of an eternal rest in your presence. Father, you have granted us the means by which we can pray and plead with the Creator of all things and with He who holds all things in his hand. For there is nothing in our lives that you ignore, and there are no needs that you are not willing to help us with as one who stands able and willing to do so. In Christ, you have given us rich blessings. In Christ, you have promised help and protection in our time of need. In Christ, you will vindicate your redeemed people and acquit them before all their enemies on that great day. Forgive us, Father, for those times when we worry about your care for us. Though people will fail us, you never will. All of your promises will come to pass. The hope of today will be realized tomorrow as our faith is turned to sight. Therefore, Father, help us to pray and trust. Please grant us an extra measure of your Spirit today so that we would proclaim your greatness with our words and our lives. We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
