Prayer: Our God in heaven, you who are glorious and mighty, we come to you this morning to pray and to worship — indeed, to commune with you. We acknowledge your majesty and ascribe to you glory and honor. You alone are sovereign over heaven and earth. All things belong to you, for you have made all things. It is right for us to come to you because you alone can help us.

We confess to you our sin. We mourn our indwelling sin and our frequent failure to love you with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We confess our cowardice in not speaking to others about the Gospel. Help us, Father, to serve you by telling others about your Son. Grant to us boldness and strength and give us the words we need to confront a world of darkness.

We ask that you would bless us and keep us. We ask that you would make your face shine upon us and be gracious to us. We pray that you would lift up your countenance upon us and give us peace. We pray all of these things in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
