Prayer: Our God in heaven, you Word has told us that we should pray for “for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way” and we do so today. We pray for our leaders that you would bring the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the ears. We ask you, our Father, that you would open their hearts and minds to the truth of Christ. We plead with you to convince them of their need — that regardless of their rank in this life, they will bow their knee to Christ with the rest of mankind. Guard your church against their wicked decisions and use them for the good of your church.
Father, grant to us this day a willingness to love you more and to follow all that you have commanded. Help us, by your Spirit, to walk in your ways, seeking first your kingdom and righteousness. Grant to us a willing spirit to obey you. Keep us from temptation and sin; we pray in the Nane of Christ. Amen.
