Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we thank you that you stand able and ready to help us with all of our concerns, needs, and struggles as we pilgrim through this barren land, a land of iniquity filled with many troubles and hardships for your people. We are your redeemed people, but we still live in a fallen world. Sin has ruined all you made, and we feel its effects each day. We witness the misery of our fallen condition and are reminded of it through sickness, sadness, and death. We witness men and women, made in your image, warring with one another, fighting over petty issues. We see the rebellion of your creatures demonstrated due to their pride and arrogance, and we weep because we know that though they think themselves wise, they are fools. We mourn these things and note that we too often stray from what you have told us. We are like sheep that easily wander. We are not satisfied with the pasture you have made for us. We lack contentment and trust in your guidance. Though we believe, we often need help with our unbelief. Forgive us, Lord. Please grant us greater trust in you and all you are doing.

We do pray for our world and for the many that are facing difficult days. We pray for our loved ones who do not know you. We pray for our friends and family that suffer from chronic illness and pain. We pray for our leaders. We pray for those who are serving you in hostile areas of this world. We ask, Father, that you would give relief, advance your kingdom, and bring many to a saving understanding of the gospel. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
