Prayer: Father, we come to you as your children knowing that you stand ready and able to help us. We are thankful for your mercy. We know that you do not treat us as our sins deserve. Instead, your justice was satisfied through the work of your Son. Your love for us is infinite, and you proved your love for us by sending us your Son. Thank you, Father, that you are “the LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.”
Forgive us, Father, for our sins. We know that we are often unfaithful to you. We allow our minds to dwell on the things of this earth instead of the things above. We often lose our focus and fail to seek first your kingdom and righteousness. Help us, by your Spirit, to show our love to you in our obedience to all that you command.
We pray for our friends and family who do not know you. We ask that you would be pleased to open their eyes to the truth of the gospel. We plead with you that you would “birth them from above” as you have done for us. Be gracious to our lost friends and family members and save them for Christs’ sake. We pray all of these things in Christs’ Name. Amen.
