Prayer: Our God in heaven, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we bow before you today thankful that you have given us another day in which we can live our lives as living sacrifices to you. This day is not like the other days that you have made. This is the Lord’s Day, a day in which your people gather to worship you and to hear from you as your Word is read and proclaimed. Forgive us, Father, for trampling underfoot the day that you have commanded to be set apart. Forgive us for our lack of zeal for this day that pictures our eternal rest. Grant to us your Spirit that we may worship you as you have commanded. We desire to honor you with our hearts and our lips in our public gatherings. Be merciful to us and grant us a greater love for this day and your worship. We pray this in Christs’ name. Amen.
