Prayer: Our glorious God in heaven, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we bow before you at the start of another day. We are thankful to you for speaking to us through your Word preached on the Lord’s Day. We are thankful that you have ordained this simple means of grace for you people. We confess to you that we do not always take advantage of the proclamation of the Scriptures. We fail to meditate and confer with what we have heard. We fail, at times, to seek to bring forth the fruit of it in our lives. Forgive us, Father, and help us to strive to take full advantage of the preaching of your Word.
Grant to us this day a greater zeal and love for you, and help us by your Spirit to seek first your kingdom and righteousness. We pray this in Christs’ Name. Amen.
