Prayer: Father, we humbly come to you today as the One to whom we must run when we are discouraged and weary. You are our Father, and we know that you stand ready and able to help us. Yet, we confess that it seems that you do not hear us because we see so little of your work in our lives. We grow weary and tired, and we are often discouraged by so much that affects us. As your people, we struggle with the events that face us in our world. We trust you, but, at times, we wonder what it is that you are accomplishing. As children, we look to you for help. We long for you to act in such a way that your glory is clearly seen and acknowledged. Yet, we live in a rebellious world, and that rebellion sometimes affects the church. It drags us down and causes us to grow anxious by matters that we cannot control. Please help us, Father. Please help us to depend solely on you and to trust that you are working for our good even when we are unable to explain it or understand it. Be gracious to your people today. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
