Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we thank you for the privilege of prayer. We are grateful that we can address you as Father and, as we do, have confidence that you stand ready and able to help us as your children. We praise you for the work of adoption where you have moved us from the courtroom of wrath and judgment and brought us into your family room where we can cry out “Abba, Father.” We know that you have done this out of your mere good pleasure, in love, predestining us as sons and daughters through the work of the elected One, your Son. We confess that we do not often cry out to you as we should. We are ashamed of our weakness and laziness to plead with you for those things that we need in our lives. Forgive us and help us to pray as your Son taught us to pray. Grant to us a greater boldness and reverence as we come to you knowing that you will work all things according to your purpose plan. We pray this in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
