Prayer: Our God, you are great and glorious, the one true God who is to be feared and praised because you have done great things among your creatures. You set the sun in the sky to give light by day. The night is full of your glory as we behold the stars and the moon — those lesser lights to rule the night. You have condescended to weak and miserable people and, through the work of your Son, put a new song in our hearts because of that great salvation that can only come from you. We sing, our God, because you have made us glad, restoring to us the purpose for which we are made: to worship and adore you, our Maker. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and you are to be reverenced and honored in all areas of our lives. Please grant us willing hearts and minds to meditate on your beauty and majesty and respond to you with song that gives you the reverence you deserve. Please help us to not only think of your matchless wonder but to declare it to all people as we move throughout our day. Please grant us a burden for the lost of this world who have given their lives to idols. Please give us your Spirit so we will live as you commanded. May our lives be a fervent song of worship to you as we speak, act, and think. Though we are creatures of dust, you have redeemed us to magnify your love and care. Please help us to do just that as we move throughout the day. These things we pray in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.
