Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we thank you for the blessing of prayer, knowing that your Word tells us that you hear the cries of your children. Like David, the man after your own heart, we long to be heard by you as we offer you our cries for mercy and help. As pilgrims and your people, the miseries of this life would be terrible to bear if not for the privilege and comfort of offering our prayers to you. The King prayed toward your most holy sanctuary, but we enter into that place through the work of the great High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ. There we bow before the Almighty, who is ready and able to help his people. Therefore, our God, hear us when we pray and plead for help from you.

Please help us, Lord, with the many concerns and cares we face each day. There are friends and family members who do not know you and are facing a tragic eternity. Please rescue them from their sin. We have friends and family who know you but are suffering in many ways. Please comfort them. We have brothers and sisters experiencing significant opposition and persecution because they name the Name of your Son. Please defend them and use them to advance your kingdom. Please go with us today and remind us of your eternal love that leads us to bless you and praise your glorious name. We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
