Praying through the Westminster Shorter Catechism
Prayer 14
Westminster Shorter Catechism Q4
Q. 4. What is God?
A. God is a spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable, in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth.

Prayer: Our great God in heaven: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we joyfully bow before you today to ascribe to you all glory and strength. You alone are the one true God, and there is no other. You alone dwell in the heavens and rule and reign over your creatures. We thank you that you are a God of truth. We are grateful that all you say to us can be trusted because you are not a God that can lie. We praise you for giving us the words of truth contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. We adore you for giving us your Son, who is the way, the truth, and the life.

We confess to you that we do not always live our lives in total trust in you. We know that you will never lie to your people. Yet, we worry and fret and grow anxious over the things of this life. Forgive us, Father. Help us to walk with you and trust you, the God of truth, in all things. We pray this in Christs’ Name. Amen.
