Prayer: Grant, almighty God, that your glory would be seen throughout the earth today as your people seek to honor you by doing your holy will. We confess the weakness of our flesh, knowing that the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. We confess that we rarely order our days in such a way as to prioritize the Lord’s Day. Instead, we are often busy with things that are not sinful but rarely satisfy. We confess that we store more treasures in this life than in the life to come. Forgive us, Father, and please help us walk in your ways, obey your commands and seek to glorify you with every fiber of our being.

We pray for your church today, especially for those ministers who will lead your people in worship on the Lord’s Day. We know that some of them are hurting in various ways. Some suffer from poor health. Some suffer from great discouragement. Some wonder if the labor is worth it. Some are ready to quit. Some are weary from pouring their lives into the souls of others and seeing such little fruit in return. Some are tired, lacking encouragement for all that they do. Please remind them, Father, that their labor is not in vain in the Lord. Please strengthen them by your grace and warm their hearts to you. Please grant them an extra measure of your Spirit to accomplish the work they have been called to perform we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
