Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we bow before You today as the One true sovereign of heaven and earth. You created the world and all that we see in the space of six days and all very good. You did this by the word of Your power. Therefore, there is nothing that You cannot do. We are thankful that you are most-powerful, able to do exceedingly, abundantly beyond all that we ask or think. We confess to you that we often think life depends on us. In fact, we are dependent upon You. Help us, Father, to trust you more in whatever circumstances we are in. Teach us to rely on your might and power as a Father Who is ready to help His children. Be gracious to us today we pray in the name of Christ. Amen.

Prayer: Our most holy and mighty God in heaven, we begin our day in prayer before You because You alone are God, and there is no other (Isa. 45:5). You alone are worthy of our praise and adoration. You are holy, and You do whatever You please (Psa. 115:3). We thank You that You are working all things according to the counsel of Your good, perfect, and righteous will and that You do so for the good of Your church (Eph. 1). We thank You that You are conforming Your people to the image of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:28-30). We confess to You that we sometimes forget that what You are doing in our lives has that goal in mind. We are forgetful people, but we are comforted knowing that you forgive us when we fail (1 John 1:9). Help us, by Your Spirit, to remember Your mercies and kindness and love towards us. Help us to live knowing that we have a heavenly Father who is sanctifying us and bringing us safely to our heavenly rest. We pray this in Christs’ Name. Amen.

Prayer: Almighty God and heavenly Father, we bow before Your throne this morning. You alone are the true Sovereign of heaven and earth, and You alone direct the affairs of men. Your Word tells us that evildoers will rise against us, and You have told us to not fret because of what they do (Psa. 37). We confess to You that we are often anxious and worry because of the behavior of wicked people. We confess our lack of trust in You during times of opposition, threats, lies, and other despicable and discouraging seasons when depraved people come against us. Forgive us for not looking to You, especially in these times. Help us to trust You. Help us to commit our ways to You. Help us not to avenge ourselves, or seek the ruin of our enemies (Rom. 12:17-21). Teach us to love our enemies, and to pray for those who persecute us (Matt. 5:43, 44). Help us, by Your Holy Spirit, to do what is contrary to our sinful flesh and to demonstrate the Savior in all of our responses to wicked people we pray in Christ’s Name. Amen.
Scripture meditation: Psa. 37; Rom. 12:17-21; Matt. 5:43, 44
Prayer: Father in heaven, You alone are our God. We bow before Your greatness and are humbled by this privilege that we can come to You to pray and plead for the things that we need (Heb. 4:14). We adore You – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – for Your love for us, in redeeming us and adopting us into Your family (Eph. 1; Heb.2:10-16). We are thankful that You condescended to our need; that You covenanted together to redeem a people – a chosen people, a holy nation, a royal priesthood (1 Pet. 2:9, 10). We are thankful that through the seed of the woman, You sent the Lord Jesus Christ (Gen. 3:15), clothed with our flesh, made like us so that He could make atonement for us. We confess to You our weakness and our sin. We fail to meditate deeply on Your electing love, Your kindness to us, and Your promise to never leave us or forsake us. Help us to conform our minds towards righteousness (Rom. 12:1-2). Give us grace this day to walk humbly with You. We pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we have met with You yesterday and have heard Your Word preached and applied to our hearts (2 Tim. 4:1-5). We thank You for Your gracious provision of the Scriptures, which are a light to our path and soothing ointment for our souls (Psa. 119:105). We thank You that in Your wisdom you set apart men, gifted of Your Spirit, to proclaim and expound the written Word. We thank You that You have graciously given to Your church this means of grace where we can hear the Good Shepherd speak to His people (John 10). Father, we pray that You would cause us to remember that which we have listened to this past Lord’s Day. We ask that You would make us good hearers that lead to obedience to that which You have told us (Jas. 1:22). Help us, Father, to meditate on the Word preached (Luke 9:44), to confer with it (Deut. 6:6), and seek to bring forth fruit from it in our lives (Luke 8:15). We pray this in Christs’ Name. Amen.

Prayer: Our Father in heaven, You alone are majestic and beautiful. It is right for Your people to bow before You, daily, and ascribe to You glory and honor. You have been faithful through ages past and will continue to help us in the days to come (Psa. 90). We confess to You that we often fail to remember that all that we do is due to Your kindness. You provide for us all that we need and equip us with the strength to carry out our daily tasks. You and You alone grant to us the knowledge and furnish us with the ability to reason, think, and execute decisions all according to Your divine providence. We thank You that You do not treat us as our sins deserve (Psa. 103:10). You have looked upon Your people and regard them as the apple of Your eye (Psa. 17:8). Therefore, Father, we turn and offer You our love and adoration, because You have redeemed us and called us by name (Isa. 43). Help us today. Be kind to us and show forth Your faithfulness (Lam. 3). Though we fall short of Your glory, You now behold us in Your dear Son in whose Name we pray. Amen.
