Blogging Through the Bible

Blogging Through the Bible

Beginning August 14th, I am going to be “blogging (not slogging!) through the Bible”. My plan is to write a summary of each chapter I read in God’s Word along with some notes, observations and, if I am feeling very zealous, some comments on other items to study that come out of the chapter.

So, my plan is as follows:

MON-SAT: one chapter from the Old Testament, beginning in Genesis.
TUES and THURS: one chapter from the New Testament, beginning in Matthew

If you subscribe to The Parchment, you will get an automatic notification for each post written.

Over the course of the next five years, I am going to be blogging through the Bible at a rate of 3-4 chapters per week.  That means it will take me 298 weeks (a little over five years) to complete this process, writing on four chapters per week. The plan is to finish the goal.  I am not in a hurry. The target will be to enrich basic Bible knowledge (names, dates, places, facts, events, etc.) and not wade into controversial discussions.

Each entry will have the chapter in full, with an outline of the chapter with the main factual items. At the bottom of the entry will be a section for further study.
